There has been some shaking going on in the world of Search Engine Optimization. Resident industry giant Google has been tinkering with a new way to perform search and present its subsequent search results. They've dubbed this latest attempt to stir up the search world, Universal Search.
Universal Search has been causing quite a stir in the SEO community for a very simple reason - the new SERPs have the potential to wreck the current site rankings of many pages.
While it hasn't been fully rolled out throughout the Google engine, it has been popping up on more and more current searches. However, Google is notorious for trying new idaes, listening for feedback, and proceeding or cancelling as need be. But for the here and now, more and more searches are returning more than your usual 10 web results. More and more searches are returning video and image links along with the sponsored and organic web results. Of course, that means the new format moves everything around, leaving even less room for your site to appear in the Top 10.
So what's a website to do?
